What does it take to build business value?
It's a big question. One that deserves some serious thought.
I've been digging deep on the topic and thought you, as a fellow business owner, might be interested in what I'm discovering.
First, when I talk about building business value, I'm talking about the value that reflects your hard work, investment, risk taking, and dedication.
Second, what I mean by building business value is what a future acquirer will pay top dollar for when you are ready to exit your business—whether that's soon or more than a decade away.
I'm finding that keeping the "end in mind"—even when we are far from ready to sell—is a key mindset shift. It instills clarity and purpose in day-to-day decision-making, providing a level of strategic guidance that is difficult to find elsewhere.
Over the last 30 years, I've witnessed firsthand a lot of what works and what doesn't when it comes to optimizing the value of startups and small businesses. Plus, I'm always on the hunt for new ways to help business owners reduce stress, increase their peace of mind, and thrive in the professional and personal lives.
I've integrated the principles and methodology of three key tools into my coaching practice for business owners to provide insights on your business and create an actionable strategic plan. They include:
The Value Builder System
The Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), including Ninety.io's online platform.)
The 6 types of Working Genius
These tools help me offer a view of what's working, what's not, and what could work a lot better to drive measurable improvements in business value and your quality of life coupled with the systems and support to get there.
The best way to get started is to get a view of your business with the Value Builder Assessment.
